Chapter Philanthropy & Service

In addition to national partners, collegiate chapters also support local causes through philanthropic fundraising and hands-on service on their campuses and in their local communities.

The Detroit Metro Alumnae Chapter supports several non-profit organizations throughout the year. At our annual Mother Daughter Luncheon in May as well as when we host our National Founders Day every other year, we raise money to donate to both the National Philanthropy and local philanthropies that are near to our hearts.

Every year in March or April, we get together with the Delta Tau chapter to pack food boxes at Focus Hope in Detroit, MI. Focus Hope is a non-profit that is nationally renowned as a civil and human rights organization diligently working to bridge the racial divide in southeast Michigan through their food program, career training programs, and HOPE Village Initiative.  While packing boxes on the assembly line, we have a chance to bond with our newest generation of sisters, all while helping to promote the progress of mankind. More information on the Focus Hope organization can be found here: http://www.focushope.edu/

Each June we hold a pet shower for the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society located in Detroit, Michigan. The Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society is funded completely by private donations. Sisters bring items from their wish list and monetary donations as well. More information on this organization can be found here: http://www.macsshelter.org/

During the holiday season we adopt a local family and wrap the presents together at our annual Christmas Party and ornament exchange.
